Babe Ruth lived between the years 1895 – 1948. Ruth is known as one of the best baseball players of all time. Ruth’s fan base was unprecedented. He attracted enormous crowds and help create baseball into the American past time that it is today. Langston Hughes lived between the years 1902 – 1967.
Hughes was known as a great American poet. Frequently, Hughes’ poetry was about the rise of African Americans from poverty.
Hughes was a major player in the Harlem Renaissance, a movement where tremendously talented African Americans studied, learned, and created music, poetry, and philosophy together. Hughes helped create the famous literary journal entitled Fire.
Louis Armstrong lived between the years 1901 – 1971. Armstrong was a tremendous musician whose trumpet playing was known worldwide. Armstrong helped develop and change jazz forever: he brought the solo to light in Jazz music.
Armstrong was very influential in the African American community – he inspired many musician and young children to work hard.
